Summer Blues

What's It Wednesday #174

This summer I am embracing the blues with a Staffordshire collection that was designed by Sir Hugh Maxwell Casson.

Hugh Casson was a brilliant 20th-century British architect, interior designer, artist, author (I have one of his children's books), and broadcaster.
These pieces were designed in the 1950s and are meticulously hand engraved.

This earthenware teapot is very difficult to come-by. I fell in love with the French cafe scene called the 'Riviera'.

I also love the 'Cannes' collection. The colorful boats are detailed by the hand-coloring which cleverly enhances the beauty of each piece.

With this collection of historical British pottery, I am happy to say I have the summer blues.

Do you have a favorite piece of pottery?

xoxoxo
Paula

We are partying with these fine folks:
Come show off your whatchamacallits, what is its, what it once was, and "hey, look what I just did" posts. In other words, what you created, organized, designed or re-designed, found, purchased, transformed, inherited, re-purposed, renovated, are selling, or giving away.

This is an AWEful ;) post. I can't get over each wonderful detail to take notice in the subject and main attraction of it. There are so many beautiful pieces that I have difficulty to move on and appreciate just one.
From that wonderful fabric, to the lovely chargers and magical plates you really pulled a table worth of a Louvre exhibition.
Bring on the Summer Blues! They're lovely, fresh and full of the expectation all Summer should start with.
Have Fun. Be Happy,
Teresa
