What's It Wednesday #92
As
the temperature begins to drop (elsewhere) I can't help but long for
the warm tones of fall. Although here in sunny South Florida that's
not about to happen naturally. I decided to warm things up with some
honeyed copper in the décor. This hammered copper watering can and
pot work well together. Love the long curvy spout!
I
try to pick up these little copper pots whenever I see them, they
remind me of home and large ones that my mom had.
This bread server with blue and white porcelain handles is a favorite for brown and serve rolls at Thanksgiving. I like the squat round shape and attached handle.
This
kettle is great for boiling water for tea, keeps it super hot. See
the paddle in the back? The long handle makes it easy to reach into
hot ovens for pizza. Yum!
Copper
molds grace the walls as the wait to bake a tasty treat.
Copper
ladle makes serving up hot cider an easy feat.
And
what is this last bit of copper? It is my very favorite piece of
copper. See the pretty cut out design? Take a guess.
A
bed warmer! It was filled with hot coals and rubbed between the cold
sheets to warm them in winter. How neat is that! Hope you add a
little copper to your fall as well.
Hugs,

Hi Girls,

Kris
Hi!! Another wonderful collection--love it! And thanks so much for hosting! I'm happy to be here early for a change! :)
ReplyDeleteNow you've gone and made me mad! Several years ago I got tired of all my copper pots and gave them to my brother with the understanding if he ever grew tired of them, he was to return them to ME! So . . . when I said to him, "Hey, I think I'd like all that copper back if you aren't using it." Oh - guess what? He GAVE IT ALL TO GOODWILL!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are a peaceful family and I still love him, but seeing your beautiful photos, I'm reconsidering all that love.
Thanks for the party.
Beautiful copper collection! I love the vignettes you created with them. I love copper too and I should use them more for decorating. Thanks for the inspiration...Christine

ReplyDeleteYou have a nice, varied collection of copper. Back in the 70's there were home parties with copper items for the home. I had a few pieces but tired of it and gave it all away but in hindsight should have kept some.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! These look like still life paintings! I am delighted to join your party, I do appreciate you hosting,

fall is the perfect season for copper..so warm
ReplyDeleteI read your title in the thumbnail in my blog and - you know me - thought: "what cooper is she talking about? Cary, Bradley???" and jumped over here for some eye candy. And, girl, did I get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a chaming Party! We aren't big on copper tradition in my Country... in fact when growing up I only caught a glimpse of some lovely pieces - very much like yours - in the home of a very rich lady in the village where the scent was always sweet and welcoming.
Just like your post.
Need to mingle and visit some of your party-goers ;)
Thank you for throwing such interesting parties and knowing the most creative and inspiring people.
Yours,
Teresa

ReplyDeleteBeautiful copper pieces. I used to collect copper back in the early seventies. I had quite a few pieces. I ended up donating almost everything when I moved in the late eighties. I bet my lovely things are gracing many households across the country right now. I do miss them. Maybe it is time to start collecting copper again.
ReplyDeleteHi Patti. Your copper is gorgeous. One of my favorite things and your photos are beautiful too. Perfect for the season. Thanks for hosting again..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteWhat a vibrant post! I normally don't care for oranges and rusts but this really is pretty. The bed warmer is wonderful. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Love your copper and exquisite photos.
ReplyDeleteIt is just beginning to cool down around here, finally - so I understand what you mean.
Think of us in Jan when we are under a rentless seige of ice and snow storms and grey grey grey days......ugh, that's what it all REALLY means!

Thank you for the invitation - I'm so glad that I am able, after a gap, to take part again!
ReplyDeleteSuper nice copper pieces. I now wish I would have kept the pieces I had. I had a few nice pieces when I had my home, but when I sold my home I sold the pieces at a yard sale. Love the look of them with the fall theme.
ReplyDeleteAna
Your copper pieces are really beautiful! They sure do work well with your autumn theme.
ReplyDeleteYour selection of copper was great, but you discussed the cooling weather. In Texas we have not been so lucky with highs dropping to the mid to high 90's. we are wishing for your cooler weather great site.
ReplyDeleteEverytime you show us marvellous collections. The idea of doing a copper fall is amazing
ReplyDeleteKisses
Alessandra
Those are some great copper pieces. I used to collect that when I had a country French style kitchen with warm colors. Now, my sister does. I could really use that bed warmer in the winter months, myself!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great collection of copper pieces! I like the one with the porcelain handles. I always wanted one of those really big ones with the porcelain handles. I had some copper molds that I let go of and now I feel dumb for doing it! My Dad grew up in Calumet, Michigan (copper mining town). We always have a special place in our hearts for copper because of it. I really should make a point of having more of it!
ReplyDeleteThe copper is the perfect color metal to go with Fall decorations. I actually put out a few brass things today on my bookshelves. I love Fall decor! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteCopper is perfect for an autumn display. How pretty! It's my dream to have a kitchen filled with copper pots one day. Famous chefs are constantly explaining why copper is the superior material for heat distribution and cooking.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking-up to My Happy List!!!
xo,
RJ
I love your copper collection...perfect for an autumn display! Thanks ladies so much for hosting and the invite. Have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteJudy
Such lovely photos. Thanks for sharing with us at our Thursday Favorite Things Blog hop. Also thanks for the party.
ReplyDeleteAngel
Oh how lovely to see your pretty copper pieces. Most of mine went to the GoodWill or Salvation Army in the last few years. Thankfully I kept a little bit because like you, now I love to use it for Fall decorating. LOL... I just saw some comments saying theirs went to the same places.
ReplyDeletePretty settings to show off your wonderful copper!
I love you r beautiful copper and what a beautiful set of photos to capture that Fall feeling. Just beautiful as always. Hugs, Beverly
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by for a Blog Visit and for Hosting such a Fab Blog Party. I too love Copper, it was Mined quite extensively here in Arizona so you could always find an abundance of it. I love the Patina as it Ages too. Since our temps are still peaking at 113 plus degrees, it is difficult to imagine it's Autumn rolling in already, so I totally relate to decorating Seasonally to give the ILLUSION of a change of Seasons. *Winks*
ReplyDeleteBlessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
Your collection of copper is amazing and so very perfect to add some Fall to your home! We have to fake Fall here in the AZ desert, too!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, sweet Patti, for your good wishes for our little grandson.
ReplyDeleteYou are the sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Patti,
ReplyDeleteThat's a neighbor's porch, but it's the most welcoming GREEN I've ever seen. I'd like to paint our whole house that color.
I love when you drop in at Lawn Tea, and so enjoyed your Copper pieces---my Mother's kitchen was beautiful pale pine cabinets, orange countertops (yes, the Brady era, as were my own, and they were still there when the house was sole in 98), and everything copper you can think of---cannisters and hanging utensils and molds and picture frames.
This was just a wonderful remembering for me, of all the good cooking and good times that went on in that big kitchen.
And Mercy! You DO know how to give a Party! I'm coming back tomorrow for a good visit with you and all your guests.
rachel
Oh how lovely your copper collection is. Very pretty!

Wishing you a relaxing and beautiful weekend...
Love to you,
- Irina
Darling Patti!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you so much for coming over to visit. Your words are so kind! I love the sweetness that words and comments leave as we visit one another!
COPPER! YES! I have my own collection and what better time of year to use my pots to make soup or stews. I saw the most FABULOUS antique copper BABY BATH TUB weeks ago in an antique store on an old main st. in Stillwater, Minnesota. I didn't have the money for it, but it was Victorian, it had a lovely embossed design, and was the most precious tub. It would make a good container for ice and wine/soda for a summer party or a great center piece for a large farm table! Your arrangements are fabulous.
Well my dear, I hope your school year is going well; I am on a new assignment of traveling from the high school where I teach French then off to a nearby middle school in the same district to teach 8th grade French. I LOVE IT.
May your approaching fall (ours is coming at a slow pace too!) be rich with cozy memory-making moments! God bless, Anita
I don't have very much copper but it's pretty!
ReplyDeleteMy Mother in-law which is now passed on. Had a copper store in Canada which I come from. So of course her being Dutch. I bought pieces from her in the store and she also gave me pieces for B. gifts.
ReplyDeleteSo I am a fan of copper and the blue dutch plates all of her homeland. All the wee teaspoons.
My Granddaughter my oldest is in 3 year of University to be a teacher. She is taking French as well.
She loves children. She has alot of experiences teaching in Bible vacation school this summer but she also is a social butterfly and likes all kinds of people. She also sings and thinks nothing of a packed audience when she sings for charities as well. She is a lime light person.
Drop over to my site. I put alot of fall scenery up of Fall. We having Fall colours fast but it will go just as fast too. I live up North in Black bear land. Love it. Retired with hubby.
Oh I added you just now. I like what you like also. Pretty things and all.
ReplyDeleteHello Patti,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you so much for the very warm welcome back to blogland! I missed all of you, too! I love this post because I, too, adore copper. In the town (in Ohio) where I grew up, there is a place that has been in business since the 1800s, making the hammered copper kettles and other decorative pieces. It's a wonderful place to visit! You should look them up online. It's called the D. Picking & Company in Bucyrus, Ohio. Love, Cindy
Your collection of copper is wonderful. I love how you've displayed it for Autumn. It adds to the rich colors of Fall. Very pretty post.
ReplyDeletexo
I love what you've done with the copper and Fall leaves - so beautiful! Fall comes gently to Southern California and lingers well into January until the wind whips the last of the Fall color off the trees. Like you, I will soon nudge it along. Thank you for linking up with Sunday View.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to feature your post on Inspired Sunday tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLaura

I love the colours of autumn. Here in the UK the leaves are just changing colour and the variety of reds, golds and browns is very inspirational to my crafting. Hope you have a good week.
