What's It Wednesday #149
I rang in the New Year in my most favorite way…. treasure
hunting of course! I just love this beautiful angel that I got from a favorite
antique store! A true sign that this will be a fabulous year.
I found a sweet little sister for Hannah, the chippy
paint is just perfect.
Next I found this great scale for the kitchen and the
ironstone pitcher, too! They are so hard to find here.
This
lovely silver plate water pitcher makes a super flower vase. Love the detail on
the handle and feet.
This basket of beaded fruit was just too pretty to
pass up, the whole set was only ten dollars!
Last I found this cool fire stand. Now I don’t have a
fireplace, but I loved the shape. It was a dusty mess, but I cleaned it up and
painted it a glossy black. First I was going to put it in the kitchen on the
stove to hold spoons or other cooking utensils, but I changed my mind and came
with this…
It’s great for hanging bracelets, or holding other
jewelry. Looked like this year is off to a great start. What have you found so
far?
Hugs,
Patti

ReplyDeleteOh Patti, for goodness sakes, what a surprise to see "my girls" featured, and I'm honored! Your finda are absolutely terrific, and I think the scale is my favorite, just because those type are hard to find in my area too. I am trying to curb my enthusiasm on bringing new (old) things in because I feel like I'm beginning to clutter up my space I worked so hard on last summer...but...the deals just keep on coming!
ReplyDeleteI am sharing my crazy fetish for all things Flapper this week - that's one area of collecting I don't think I'll ever stop (that, and dishes, hehe). Have a great week.

What good finds the angel is just divine.
I would have thought you would have painted the fireplace stand a white LOL
I am anxious to get out for some great sales this year, however still cleaning out my storage room for another indoor sale
Patti, That was brilliant turning the fireplace thingee into a jewelry holder. I love it! Your friend, Linda
ReplyDeleteI just love your angel. It reminds me of ones I saw in the churches in the Italian Alps. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi sweets, I love all your finds but especially your angel
ReplyDeleteSweet Patti! Good morning!
ReplyDeleteAlways, always such lovely antique/vintage beauty here. Lately, I have enjoyed collecting bleached coral and large shells to strewn across my vintage gold table. My husband really loves it and it makes celebrating the snow outside more fun!
Thank you so much for your visit sweet friend. It was a very tough decision that was brewing for months, but I finally did it. However, I am not deleting my blog, in hopes that once I can make it a WRITING habit (as I've done for blogging) for my poetry, I'd like to stay in blogging. But for now and during the school year, I simply have no time to achieve my personal writing goals. It is demanding.
I am visiting blogs in the morning when I can, because YOU ALL have been such an important blessing in my life, that has literally changed my life. Much love to you, and I am still around. Anita
So many great ideas and reads here. Thanks for sharing with the Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm coveting your ironstone pitcher and scale, and I love your new "jewelry holder." Happy 2015!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finds! I love the chippy little iron dress form!
ReplyDeleteJennelise
Patti,
ReplyDeleteYou really find the most unique and wonderful treasures, don't you? The stand that you painted is great, and such a clever idea to use it for jewelry. The silver pitcher is so pretty. Nel's husband just bought her a silver tea pot, and she put hydrangeas in it just like you did here. The beaded fruit made me smile because they look so vintage. I used to see them in homes back in the day. And the angel.....it is the most beautiful treasure of all. I really LOVE IT!
I enjoy your posts so much, they are charming and lovely. I hope the new year is being good to you ladies.
love, ~Sheri
Beautiful post filled with wonderful new found treasures. It's so fun to hit the jackpot like this when thrifting.

Hi Patti!
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving such a sweet comment on my blog tody! I am always happy to visit you, too! I'm glad to have the opportunity to join you for the party.
It is snowing heavily here this afternoon and I just came in from outside. My jeans were all covered in snow, so I jumped into my cozy robe and am now curled up by the fire in our TV room with a cuppa and ready to browse all the lovely posts linked to your party today. Enjoying the afternoon and watching the fluffy feathers from heaven floating down and all around...
Wishing you a beautiful weekend,
Hugs,

Oh Patti,
ReplyDeleteThe angel is divine, you know me I am always creating with Angels and wings on my etsy so this sweet beauty would be a keeper if it had landed in my sight.
As for the scale it's amazing in it black finish and it really makes the pitcher pop with its white age.
You my dear come up with the bets what is its, and the best finds. I think you need to do a slide show or video post so we can see a tour of all your collectables in one viewing, and how they fill your beautiful home with authentic history.

ReplyDeleteGreat finds - love the scale - that is definitely on my list of things to find. I also have the little fireplace stand, however I was told it was a hand towel and soap holder for a bathroom vanity. I love your idea for a jewelry holder, so once I paint mine, it will go on my bedroom dresser to hold some of my trinkets!
ReplyDeleteI want to shop where you shop!!! I love the chippy little dress form...You have a great eye for treasures!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Your scale is just fabulous! And I have that same fruit that I keep in a wicker footed bowl on my dining room table in between holidays. I've had it for years and I love it!
