Pretty as a Picture

                 What's It Wednesday #164

I was on Pinterest, as usual, looking for a cool idea to decorate the wall on my husband's side of the bedroom when I came across an amazing "Ikea Hack" worth trying and blabbing about.

I wanted to something special so this idea was perfect. After seeing this idea on Pinterest, I literally ran to Ikea the next day and purchased the Malma Mirrors

It started with this simply framed Malma Mirror from Ikea. I purchased 15 of them for my 3 X 5 gallery wall. Each mirror was $1.99.

The back has this small hole for hanging. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the hole, but me being me, I gorilla glued hangers on the back of each one so that I could have better control over each  frame remaining straight (This is in my head).

Next I went through my Facebook and Instagram pictures and uploaded them to my Walgreens Photo Account. I changed them to black and whites and ordered the prints in 5 X 7. This is the best $1.99 I have ever spent.

I cut each photo to 4 X 4 to fit squarely inside the space covering the mirror. I used double sided tape to adhere each photo on the mirror. This will make it easy for me to change out the pictures as my children grow up.

I carefully measured the distance apart vertically and horizontally. I made sure to measure twice, hammer once.

My husband was so thrilled when he got home and saw his gallery wall. Did I mention each frame was only $1.99?

  18. Love this! What a great way to arrange sentimental photos, Paula! And it looks absolutely fabulous! Ikea has great prices but did you start with buying 10 photos at 1.99 and went back later for five more for this under $20.00 project? I Don't mean to be picky - it's me being me.
