Christmas Crackers

What's It Wednesday #195

This has been a rough week. A friend fell suddenly gravely ill and is really struggling right now. So this post is a break from the worrying and praying.

My cousin was recently visiting us from the UK and promised to bring Christmas Crackers. I was so excited to get them. I know my family and friends will be so excited to receive them at the dinner table. I mean who doesn't like a nice surprise?

There will be different Christmas Crackers at each Sunday meal between now and Christmas and the Christmas dinner.

It's a decorative and colorful tube that you pull at both ends. When the cracker breaks you hear a "pop". The kids love it.

After the cracker pops a little gift falls out. It may be a small trinket, toy, joke, or riddle.

Christmas crackers can also be made at home. I saw some super cute ones on Pinterest. But for now I will keep asking family members to bring them across the pond.

  19. Years ago I read an article in Scientific American magazine that people who are prayed for (even when they don't know they are being prayed for) recover 25% faster and more completely than people who aren't the subject of prayers. So, with all the prayers and good wishes you have elicited for your friend (allow me to add mine), he or she is certain to be much better soon. You are a good friend and a great link party hostess. Thank you for making time for us show-offs when you have so much else occupying your attention.

  42. This year the IPL 13 season will be played in 2020. We all know that dream11 has become a sponsorship titan of IPL by removing Vivo. For which dream11 has paid a huge amount of 222 crores. This year, IPL season 13 has been in the headlines since the beginning due to coronavirus. And recently, the IPL seems to be falling into controversy again after the COVID-19 report of Chennai Super Kings team staff members, and some players came back positive. Now it is to see what the BCCI decides on this.
