In the Bag

What's It Wednesday #74
Have you ever found you have an unintentional collection? No? Just us hoarders, huh? Well in my attempt to dig through and organize a bit, I was rummaging through some drawers and boxes when I ran across these.

No, they were not all together wrapped lovingly in tissue or linen, but packed in here and there among lace, hats, shoes and a myriad other things.

After finding the first two I started to look for more.

These with beads and sequins say made in Hong Kong.

I found this one covered completely in beads,

and this one with a intricate flower pattern made with three different types of beads, both handmade in France.

This pretty has a raised flower pattern and hails from Germany.

The shades of ivory and cream must be what drew me to them.

Just imagine the time it must have taken to make each one!

I'm so glad I found these and put them all together. They do make a lovely collection, don't you think? Now I'm inspired to keep digging. Who knows what else I might find!?!
Hugs,
Patti

Lovely collection Patti. I wish I had something stashed away I had forgotten about. It would be lovely to have such a nice surprise finding such beautiful treasures. Alas I'm a collector, but am too organized because of my smallish home.

Oh Patti, I want to come "shop" at your house with you!... love your stunning vintage evening bags... I am so happy you uncovered them and now they happily are displayed together so beautifully!... I have two vintage ones... when I was a little girl, I went shopping with my mama into Salt Lake City (which was a big treat as a little girl!) at one of the finest department stores... my mama was looking for the perfect little evening bag to take to a party at the Officer's Club... even as a little girl, I loved these bags... she bought me one exactly like hers... beaded in white and silver with pearls and sequins... it is one of my most precious possessions... thank you for sharing your lovely collection and bringing back happy memories for me... much love to you pretty lady, xoxo Julie Marie

My mom used to have a lovely black beaded purse that I always knew was special. I can still hear the swishy sound of the beads and the way the purse would snap when it was opened and closed.

PATTI! BONJOUR!

You always manage to post the most glorious vintage finds, and these pages are lush! I saw one today on my France "travels" for the party that was a vintage rhinestone clutch from France that was so unusual in that I had never seen one with embedded stones.

Thank you for hopping to France with us! The real buzz happened during the weekend, and some bloggers have already changed their posts, just to let you know that when you click on some of the sites, you have to scroll down to find the posts.

Have a lovely "trip", sans baggage! Anita

Patty,
Your bags are exquisite. I especially love the one from Germany. Beaded and jeweled bags are beautiful to me. I have an old vintage bag that my mom passed on to me. It's not beaded or jeweled, but is so special to me because I can just imagine her wearing it. You have a lovely and unique collection of bags.

Love,
~Sheri
