What's It Wednesday #127
Many of you know that I am a collector of tobacciana. Mind you I have always detested smoking, but am fascinated by many of the gorgeous artifacts that have come out of the smoking industry.
Pass by my Up in Smoke post and check out the majority of my tobacciana.
My favorite part of the collection are my cigarette cases that I use as picture frames.
Recently, while in an antique store, I ran across this 1950s brass and crystal ashtray stand with marble base. Each crystal tear drop was intact. I absolutely fell in love with it. But at first was not sure what to do with it because anything I buy must have a purpose. No dust collectors allowed.
I kept staring at the ashtray...there must be a simple solution to this dilemma. Then it hit me.
Voila! But of course...a candy dish.
I placed the ashtray stand...I mean candy dish in the dining room next to the coffee bar. Right after dinner, anyone can grab a smoking hot treat.
Have you repurposed anything lately?
xoxoxo
Paula
