Give A Little Squeeze

Hi everyone! Today is a true "What's It Wednesday". As a hint, all the items are related. Look closely and no scrolling ahead! What are these weird items and what connects them?

Okay, I guess I kinda gave it away with the title, anyway, but let's look closer. This has a handle and spout. Pretty, huh?

Teeny cute forks. Two wide prongs, three "bent" prongs? I wouldn't try to eat steak with them.

A saucer with a carry handle? Snack for one? Who knows, but isn't the hand-painting pretty?

Give up? See the lemons? Remember the title? Now, let's look again.

This is a lemon juicer. The halved lemon fits over the pointy part, and you squeeze and twist. The juice goes through the holes into the container (seed free), the lid goes on, and the juice is poured from the spout. Pretty and practical. This one has survived about 65 years at least!

This dainty dish is a lemon server. How cool is it to have a dish just for serving lemon? They had a lot of time back then, didn't they? I love the happy hand-painted flowers too.

I LOVE these cute forks! I snap them up each time I see them. The shape and detail of each is so unique. They are for taking the lemon slices from the server. Did you guess? Are there "what's its" in your cabinets too?
Hugs,
Patti

A lemon server !!! I always wanted to know what that small handled plate was used for. I have one and it seemed too small for cookies. Thank you for including my Bingo stencil in your features this week Patti, a lovely surprise.

I actually use lemon forks, but only learned of the lemon server with one of my vintage set of china in the last few years. One of my sisters collects primitives, and she has a nice, wooden lemon squeezer, but I love yours with the serving, pour spout. Your trio is sweet. Thank you for hosting us, and I am in total awe of Laura's kitchen - such a transformation!

Oh I just love that lemon squeezer. And I guess the lemon server was from the days when we dined more elegantly than we do now. Are the forks for picking up the lemon?
Thanks for hosting and have a lovely week. Happy 4th July!

Your lemon accessories are quite lovely and perfect for a tea. I have never heard of or seen pieces like them. I am sure if I looked closely at the meal scenes on Downton Abbey I would have see them!

Hi Patti, oh my gosh, how fun! The lemon juicer is totally adorable and the lemon server is quite lovely with those lemon slices on it but I must ask, how do you know it is a lemon server, I would have just thought it was a nappy, or something like that? :) And your little forks are wonderful! I would love to go exploring at your house! Fun stuff!
Have a wonderful July 4th week!

I would have never guessed that the cute little plate is a lemon server. And I love the juicer! We serve iced tea in the South year round, so I think everyone down here would love one of those. Now I know that the Victorians truly had a fork for everything. Can you imagine living back then and having to keep all of them straight?

LOVE this post. :)

Now I have something fun to look for while going antiquing.

Y'all have a safe and blessed Independence Day!
