What's It Wednesday #187
Today I'm sharing a new find with you. I must confess I didn't know what it was at first, (Horrors!!!) but I went right to work doing my research.
It is petite in size, made of sterling silver, with a beautiful artwork border all around.
Just look at the pretty beaded trim and cute little claw feet.
It is what is known as a "sweetmeat" dish. They've been produced since the 18th century and were designed to hold small dessert treats such as sugared nuts and fruits. They can be found in various materials from porcelain to silver. Did you guess the "sweet" find?
Hugs,
Patti
