This is my latest acquisition, a cute little pill box covered in Swarovski crystals. I must confess it is not my first. Let me tell you how it all started…
This is the collection of my friend Debbie. She started me on this road of antiquing and collecting. We’ve spent many a wonderful Saturday at flea markets and antique shows.
She uses all of her pill boxes and chooses a different one to carry in her purse each day. I noticed that she had different ones, but when I saw them en masse, I was hooked.
And it began.
The little pearl one started innocent enough. I just couldn’t resist this one with all the sparkle and the little pearls. The first one needed a friend. But when I spied this one with the micro mosaic top… I was a goner!
So as my passion grew, so did my collection.
I try to find unusual ones made from different mediums, tortoise shell, petit point, porcelains, and cloisonné.
The beauty of collecting pill boxes is the variety, range of price, and their small size. They allow you to follow your heart and buy what you love! They are so plentiful and inexpensive. So pick a material, a color, or design. You’ll find that these boxes are an easy pill to swallow.

There seem to be so many pills holders from days gone by... that I wonder "what were they all taking?" Hmmmm? Yours are beautiful. As always...
I don't have any pill boxes, but my best friend has several. She is lactose intolerant and uses them to hold her lactaid. Now me - I have an orange plastic thing to hold all my OTC stuff to fight headaches. I didn't realize it was so ugly until I saw all this beauty. Now I'm envious. (That's not a pretty emotion.)

you should charge admission to your home -- people would pay good money to see all of your wonderful collections! My favorite is the round, rhinestone one on the far right, bottom pic -- stunning!

Ohhh!! I love these. next time I'm out in the antique shops I will have to browse to see what kind of pill boxes are in my neck of the woods. Sure they wont be as pretty as yours..

What a beautiful collection of pill boxes. I may have to start a collection of my own. I wanted to thank you so much for featuring my tote bag, and I hope you enjoy it. I have always loved to look at pill boxes but never have bought any for myself. These are so unique, and that pearl one, oh my, it's beautiful. AND YOU ARE NOW ON SPRING BREAK? How FABULOUS! Mine is at the end of the month and I cannot WAIT! I am going to hit the streets and see if I can get my art wares out to local shops. I am making a plan to make some CHANGES. I have been teaching for nine years, and with RTI (I don't know if you have that in your schools) and budget cuts, teaching has taken a wicked turn for many of us here in my part of the country. I am grateful to have a job, and I will act wisely (I hope!) but I must see if I could push myself as a designer and do that full-time. But I do want to be smart about it.
