In honor of St. Patrick and the great country of Ireland, I want to share my few pieces of Belleek porcelain.
It is produced in the town of Belleek, County Fermanagh, in Northern Ireland. The porcelain is characterized by its thinness (almost translucent!) and slight iridescence.
Although originally producers of pottery, Belleck began producing the Parian porcelain, for which it’s still famous, in 1863.
Many of the patterns are of natural elements like this delicate little shell vase from the sea collection.
Bellek’s marking system makes it fairly easy to date pieces. The first three marks were black lasting to 1946, the next three are green lasting until 1980, followed by the gold stamp that is used today.
Belleck porcelain is widely collected and highly sought after. Many of the older pieces are beautifully intricate in design and quite pricey. Thanks for taking a little trip to Ireland with me.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Hugs,
Patti

My mother has collected Belleek for decades. Loved seeing yours. Wish she was closer so I could take pictures of it to share as well.
I love the creamy color of the Belleek pieces. Lovely collection!
Hi Patti... I love your Belleek... Jack is Irish, so I collect it too (it's uncanny how many of the same treasures you and I both love!)... I have just a small collection too, mainly newer, some with the beautiful shamrocks on them... I try to buy one new piece each year around St. Patrick's Day... thanks for sharing yours... always love my visits here!... love to you and Paula, xoxo Julie Marie
I'd never heard of or seen Belleek before now...thanks for sharing its beauty!
Patti, your stuff is gorgeous! I'm all Irish and love everything Irish! (My daughters are even Irish dancers.) One of my favorite Beleek pieces is a tea cup and saucer my boyfriend-soon-to-be-husband brought back from Ireland for me. When we went back to Ireland on our honeymoon we bought Beleek Christmas ornaments for our families and I still hang ours way up on the top of the tree each year (18 and counting!) We also have an extensive Beleek Christmas collection. Thanks for the well wishes and Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, too!
xoxo Kathleen
