What's It Wednesday #121
This
week I made a find that left me in a bit of a dilemma. I'd been
wanting a small bench for my vanity. I could just see it all covered
in white ruffles! (sigh)
Just
one problem, this is what I found. A sweet little bench with an
embroidered top that had seen better days.
A
lid that lifts for storage,
And
legs that were less than sexy. I
could always paint it and recover the seat, but that was not
the vision. Oh, and did I mention I can't sew a bit!
Never
one to let a little thing like that crush my dreams, I found this
sweet little communion dress at my local Goodwill...
See
all those gorgeous ruffles? You see where I'm going with this?
I
cut off the bodice and velcroed the waistband together. It makes the
perfect no sew cover up!
So
if you are in need of some soft, romantic ruffles, layered with
crinoline for extra poof, look no further than your GW or thrift
store.
That
one time fancy dress can be used to cover a round inexpensive side
table, add a pretty ruffle drop to a daybed, a curtain topper, or...
a
bench cozy. The perfect cover up!
Hugs,
Patti
