What's It Wednesday #169
Last week I shared my collection of cake charms, and I promised to show you how I display them.
Since they are often used at bridal showers I knew I wanted to use rice, clever huh? But the container was the real trick. I wanted it to be a crystal ball, you know, for telling the future just like a real fortune teller. Now what happened next proves it was meant to be. I'd looked all over, in stores, and online. I tried many things, snow globes, fish bowls, but nothing gave me exactly the look I wanted. Then, I went to one of my favorite antique dealers and told her my plan.
She said, "I have an old jar that I found years ago and said I would do something cool with, but never did, will this do?"
I squealed with delight, it's perfect!
It even fits my old candle base exactly. Hugs, tears of joy, and $5.00 later my vision came to life.
I love shaking the ball and watching the different charms come up, kinda like a Magic 8 Ball!
Now my collection can continue to grow and give me pleasure as I add more charms.
Tell me, are there charms in your future?
Hugs,
Patti

This is one of the cutest ideas I've ever seen on a blog, Patti. I love your cake charms! I had them in the cake at my bridesmaids' luncheon, but I cheated and told which ribbon each girl should pull!
I'm back blogging, and I wanted to stop in and say, "Hi!" I homeschooled Shelley this year, but school's out. It has been a very rewarding year, and we had a wonderful time learning together!
