Kitchen Kitsch

What's It Wednesday #117
I have some secret collectibles that are just for me. I place them here and there in the pantry and cupboards just to bring a smile.

They are adorable little figural salt and pepper shakers. This apple pie slice has a scoop of ice cream on top, and is perfect where I have baking supplies and cookbooks.

No one likes mice in the kitchen, but when this little guy brings his own cheese...

well, who can say no?

Mr. Garlic and Ms. Onion make a perfect pair. They always come out when there's a mention of pasta.

I know he seems to be looking down his nose,

but I think he's trying to hold back a sneeze!

These guys brighten any breakfast table. Now that's what side my bread is buttered on!

This delicate boy and girl spend most of their time in a glass cabinet.

But they come and play on special occasions.

My favorite is this jaunty ladybug sitting on a flower.

I love her flower hat and leaf parasol. She keeps my plants company on the windowsill in the kitchen.

It's a happy place that always make me smile.
Hugs,
Patti

Those cute salt and pepper shakers remind me of my grandmother's very large collection. She would let each of the grandchildren pick one to use at our place for any given meal. Thanks for sparking such fun memories.

I love all your kitchen collectibles, Patti. Mr. Garlic and Ms. Onion is my favorite - how delightful they are.

Thank you for your comment on my "mom" post. I'm so sorry that you lost your mom at 25. That must have been so hard. I was only 28 when my dad left this world, and I was older with my mom, as she lived a long life. I've been thinking about her a lot on this mother's day coming up.

Sending you love today.
