What's It Wednesday #165
The stars aligned for this post. First, the temperature hit 90 degrees on the first of May. Seriously? August is still three months away and we're already at 90 degrees!?
In the south, the drink to cool off with is a tall glass of iced tea.
Now real southern iced tea requires an insane amount of sugar, fresh squeezed lemon, and Luzianne tea. Let it steep for about 15 minutes for a nice strong tea that can handle all that sugar!
Next, stunned by the heat, I stumbled into my favorite antique shop to cool off. As I browsed the aisles thinking of a nice refreshing drink, my eyes fell upon the perfect compliment to my daydream.
Six silver sippin' spoons, just what every tea lover needs! Perfect for sipping your iced tea and stirring all that sugar. There's an opening on the bowl back and the shaft is hollow.
Ahh! Now that's Southern Comfort, of which you can add a splash or two if you like (wink, wink).
Stay Cool,
Patti

Iced tea is a favorite of mine, too, but not quite so sweet as some like it. Love your sippin' spoons.

Pretty and functional, those sippin' spoons are perfectly pitched at the tip to get all the 'extra' sugar you might add that settles around the inside rim! Thanks for the party and, speaking of which, we went to a great wedding party, barn style with lots of cute ideas I'm sharing. Happy Wednesday. :)
Rita
You find the best items! Thanks for hosting another awesome party!
Your tea spoons are adorable. It is indeed time for the iced tea! Thank you for sharing my Southern Garden Tour post Patti. You delight me!
Blessings

Now I'm not a very big tea fan... hot or cold... but your post just made me think: "Oh yes, need to get some Luzianne tea next time I'm at the grocery store!" LOL.
And to boot, I love iced tea spoons and always look for them. Tell me how this makes sense! :)
I have some sipping spoons myself. Mine are made of glass and are black and red. They go with some cocktail glasses that were my mothers. One time we went to Alabama and ordered iced tea at a restaurant and I about died when I took a drink. I wasn't expecting it to be sweetened. I myself do not use sugar in my tea unless it is hot. I used to live in Oklahoma and they did not sweeten their tea at the restaurants.

Oh, I've never seen a sipping spoon but they're fabulous! I'm always learning something new here, Patti, and I love your beautiful photos.
Such a treat to be featured today - thank you so much!
We are far behind you in the weather department but it won't be long till we catch up:) Hope you're having a great week.
Precious spoons, perfect for Southern Style Tea and perhaps a dash of Southern Comfort Too-very cute!
Thanks for the party,
Hugs,
Jemma
Those sippin' spoons are adorable!
I LOVE homemade sun tea, I make it all the time in the summer. However, being from the east coast and now living in the Midwest, sugar doesn't play a part. But I know it makes it yummy! Since I drink a lot of iced tea in the summer I have to go "diet" and use splenda. I'm sure yours is much better. Thanks for hosting!

Many thanks for the great party. Looks like you purchased many lovely treasures. I love sweet tea, but unfortunately I am diabetic and cannot have sugar. Being from the south we were raised on Sweet Tea.
Have a great Spring weekend and Happy Mothers Day.
Mary

Those are the sweetest teaspoons I've ever seen! And 90 degrees? WOW! We're at a perfect 75 degrees in Ohio right now but that will be short lived. It always is. I'm so happy it's iced tea time again.
Your photos are always so gorgeous!

Patti, Luzianne tea sounds so refreshing. You know, iced tea is my favorite drink. There's nothing like it, especially in the summer months. The silver spoons are very pretty, and I like that they are heart shaped. :~)
Happy Mother's Day to you lovely ladies.
~Sheri
Aren't those sipping spoons the greatest! I found a set a couple of years ago. I never have tried Luzianne tea, it wasn't available for the longest here so we always used Lipton. I make sun tea in an old 2 quart Mason jar. Thanks for hosting ~~~ going to pop back up and look around a bit. Best, Mickie
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog the other day :) I just love your sipping spoons, especially their ivy leaf-like shape. Hope you have a terrific week-end!
Hi! Even though you're not supposed to link up your own linky party, I nonetheless enjoyed the rest of your post. Thank you for linking that bit up, at least (smile) at SHARE IT sunday linky party at FineCraftGuild.com. I love your contributions each week. Always something new and interesting going on! Till soon ~ Rose

90 degrees already? Wow, that is hot! Love the spoons. Great find! My mom always made ice tea in the summer, but I have never heard of that kind of tea. Hope it has cooled down a little for you! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Southern comfort all the way! :) yum!!
My dear it's been a month now dealing with ear issues, dizziness, vertigo, ringing and distorted noise in my ears, it's been an ordeal and off to doctors appointments so they can then make referrals to a ENT specialist, so for give me for not appearing to notice you have a new post.
I will get back with you as soon as I am done dealing with my plugged up ears.
Happy Mothers Day to you patti and Paula.
