C'est Magnifique!

What's It Wednesday #68
This post is inspired by my class. I teach 4th grade and recently the students took the state writing test. I was constantly reminding them to “magnify the moment”. I noticed that I'd magnified a bit myself. This two way mirror of ormolu in the powder room for easy makeup application.

This hand magnifier makes reading the fine print easier. So I was on the hunt to find more.

I remembered this great candle holder that I'd found a couple of years ago, I love the way all the beveled glass reflects and magnifies the light.

This is my favorite piece that I found in my neighborhood thrift store for $20.00! It's a candle lamp that beautifully magnifies and reflects the candlelight. Most days I just leave this gorgeous silk rose in it. The flower seems to grow and bloom! Ahhh, c'est magnifique!

Hugs,
Patti

Wow- Some beautiful magnifiers, Patti. I have always been fascinated by them. When I was a kid I was always trying to set a tissue paper on fire by directing the sun thru a magnifying glass....go figure that I would do that.....lol xo Diana

I was immediately drawn to this post when I noted you teach fourth grade. I taught this grade for almost 40 years. I specialized in writing. I absolutely love your reminding students to "magnify the moment." That is stupendous. Sure wish I had read, and adopted, your words before I retired. I can't think of a more perfect expression.

Love following your blog. Keep up the great work.

Beautiful PATTI!

I knew you taught as I do, but I did not realize you taught FOURTH GRADE! ME TOO! Well, I did for nine years. I have been subbing all year from 1-12th grade and it has been delightful. MAGNIFY the moment, indeed, in all we do! I am working on a poem and there is one line that I need to do some free-writing for to magnify a specific moment in my life. It is a lot of work but so worth it.

Your wares are always a wonderful treat to behold. I am writing from my loft library/bedroom where the style is more feminine than the rest of the house and my vanity holds many lovely fancy treasures too!

Thank you dearest Patti for your visit! Have a lovely Friday, Anita

I was just thinking the other day that I need to have a magnifying glass on every table because I hate wearing glasses for the few times I need them. It would be nice if they could be as lovely as yours Patti.
