What's
It Wednesday #68
This post is
inspired by my class. I teach 4th grade and recently the
students took the state writing test. I was constantly reminding them
to “magnify the moment”. I noticed that I'd magnified a bit
myself. This two way mirror of ormolu in the powder room for easy
makeup application.
This hand
magnifier makes reading the fine print easier. So I was on the hunt
to find more.
I remembered
this great candle holder that I'd found a couple of years ago, I love
the way all the beveled glass reflects and magnifies the light.
This is my
favorite piece that I found in my neighborhood thrift store for
$20.00! It's a candle lamp that beautifully magnifies and reflects
the candlelight. Most days I just leave this gorgeous silk rose in
it. The flower seems to grow and bloom! Ahhh, c'est magnifique!
Hugs,
Patti

Thanks for the party :) Hope you had a wonderful Easter! ~Pernilla
Your collection is beautiful..thanks for hosting.
Wow- Some beautiful magnifiers, Patti. I have always been fascinated by them. When I was a kid I was always trying to set a tissue paper on fire by directing the sun thru a magnifying glass....go figure that I would do that.....lol xo Diana
I always love coming over here to see the most amazing items and vignettes. These are no exception, they are stunning. I so want some of these. If only I could find something so beautiful. Alas not around here. :)
Magnify has been a word I seldom encounter and glad to remeber it. Love to have this lovely inspiration in here. Got my eye on your next posts.
OMG, I want that last one. The candle lamp that magnifies. I have never seen that before.
Thank you for hosting! I didn't have an of my projects to share just yet..I am moving them from an old blog site...so I shared what I create at least once a week..my homemade laundry detergent (I have 5 kids so we use alot!) I hop that's okay!!

I was immediately drawn to this post when I noted you teach fourth grade. I taught this grade for almost 40 years. I specialized in writing. I absolutely love your reminding students to "magnify the moment." That is stupendous. Sure wish I had read, and adopted, your words before I retired. I can't think of a more perfect expression.
Love following your blog. Keep up the great work.
Patti,
Thanks for hosting your fabulous party. I get such wonderful inspiration from these features.
Have a great week.
Kris

Patti, you take the most dreamy, vintage-inspired pictures!
Beautiful PATTI!
I knew you taught as I do, but I did not realize you taught FOURTH GRADE! ME TOO! Well, I did for nine years. I have been subbing all year from 1-12th grade and it has been delightful. MAGNIFY the moment, indeed, in all we do! I am working on a poem and there is one line that I need to do some free-writing for to magnify a specific moment in my life. It is a lot of work but so worth it.
Your wares are always a wonderful treat to behold. I am writing from my loft library/bedroom where the style is more feminine than the rest of the house and my vanity holds many lovely fancy treasures too!
Thank you dearest Patti for your visit! Have a lovely Friday, Anita
Your party is always filled with inspiration. I love your lovely vignettes. I’m sure yours was a beautiful Easter.

Hi Pstti! I didn't know you taught school! I'll bet your show and tell is amazing. You could certainly teach the children about the wonders of your collections! ;)
Thanks so much for popping in to see me and I hope you're doing well.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I was just thinking the other day that I need to have a magnifying glass on every table because I hate wearing glasses for the few times I need them. It would be nice if they could be as lovely as yours Patti.
many hugs from here...
