Here Comes the Bride

What's It Wednesday #79
June is known as the month for weddings.

In honor of this, I wanted to share a few of my cute couples with you.

Many are vintage wedding cake toppers,

others are ceramic figures that I've picked up at garage sales and flea markets.

I love the old faded lace, hairdos and fashions.

Such precious moments of the joining of two lives.

Most of the times there are tucked away in a cabinet, but this month these will be the centerpiece for a vintage bridal shower. I just love when my collections can come out and play!
Hugs,
Patti

Thanks to all of you who partied with us last week. Please link-up and join us again. Remember, it's not a party without you!

We are partying with these fine folks:

Come show off your whatchamacallits, what is its, what it once was, and "hey, look what I just did" posts. In other words, what you created, organized, designed or re-designed, found, purchased, transformed, inherited, re-purposed, renovated, are selling, or giving-away.

Oh, I just love those cake toppers. I never even considered a collection of bride and grooms and now you've got me thinking because I'm a hopeful romantic. I even posted a second time today because I got all gushy over my husband this evening.

Hi Patti,
Love the collection of figurines and cake toppers. I use to have a big selection myself but years ago sold off many in my shop using them as a wedding display, so wish I had not after your post. I love the vignette you created with the metal 3 tier stand it really makes for a wonderful display.

Thank you for sharing your time over at my place and your comments truly mean more to me than what you can imagine.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Lots of love

Oh Patti, this post was close to my heart, as Nel just married last September. You have such a lovely collection of bride and grooms. June is a great month to display them all. Now I want to start a collection of bride and grooms. I have one already - it's a porcelain Cinderella and her Prince.

I love all your great ideas.

How cute! And what fun to get to use them too! I always think people must save their cake toppers, for after all isn't that supposed to be one of the most special days of your life? But I guess in this day and age we tend to not hang on as much, and well, some of us (me included) have more than one topper to our history! But I love my own topper and still treasure it. We just celebrated our 9th anniversary on Tuesday, and the cake topper was a Mary's Moos figurine of a red tractor with the happy couple headed out on it! Very fitting for my small town wedding and country hubby!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Doni

Beautiful Patti! I LOVE that very first wedding cake topper, and the way you tiered the rest on that golden stand. Your collections are vast and so impressive! And thank you kindly for visiting; I hope to get my writing accomplished this summer as well as make some visits back in California in the next two weeks. THEN the pièce de resistance.....my dear sister-in-law (Nancy from Fête et Fleur) MIGHT be coming to see us. MIGHT......we pray!

Have a super day, Anita

What a great idea to use wedding cake toppers as part of your decorations this month. I believe I just had a flower arrangement on top of my wedding cake back in the 80's. June seems to be a popular birthday month as well.
