What's It Wednesday #140
Most
women have a shoe fetish, I am not immune. Mine just happens to center
around baby shoes. They are so tiny and adorable, I can't resist,
especially when they are from family.
This
year I wanted to get them out and try something a little different
with them. This little T-strap got the glam treatment. Sporting
a sparkling brooch and bracelet, it is so elegant. And how about that
powder puff? Doesn't it look like one of those fashionable sixties
hats?
This
old button shoe was found at the antique store. It had been slightly
bronzed and I love the way one button is undone. I took one of the
dried roses my sweeties gave me and added it.
The
faded color is just perfect. I added ribbon to each shoe so it can be
hung.
This
is another of my daughter's shoes with a pretty mother of pearl
teething ring rattle. It was actually the first one I made, then you
know I couldn't stop! Lol
I
love taking the shoes out and using them, especially this one. It's
blue for my precious little grandson. I can't wait for Christmas,
maybe I'll do a shoe tree? Or some sweet vignettes around the house.
It'll be a real shoe in!
Hugs,
Patti

Oh, I love baby shoes too! Wish I would have saved some of my kiddos, but always passed them down to others. I have a cute pink felt pair that I bought at an estate sale just waiting to do something with them. Thought of adding a bleached white bottle brush tree for Christmas. Love all of yours! Thanks for sharing them with SYC.

Hi Patti,
Loved what you did with the baby shoes,
all so sweet. I have a baby rattle just like yours from my son who is almost 37 yrs. old, but have used it
with my lil grandaughter and she loved it.
Very nice way to display these lovely
memories of your children.
Blessings, Nellie

Those are beautiful. I saved a few of my daughters too. xoxo
I just love how you decorated all of the sweet little baby shoes! Thanks for hosting! Blessings, Cecilia
A shoe tree would be so pretty, especially the way you decorate them. Beautiful little treasures!!
Beautiful and original!! :)
Patti,
These shoes are precious. The one with the cross is a special one. And the black little shoe with the jewel is so lovely. I don't have any of the kid's baby shoes, but I do have a few other things that I've kept.
Happy November, my friends!
love,
~Sheri
Oh Patti,
I had a shoe thing at one time, but now I have just kept the shoe my father wore, his first walking shoe, my first walking shoe, my daughters first walking shoe and my sons first....that's it, the rest have been sold off and now I see so much that can be done with them I often say why did I get rid of them.
My sister does a shoe tree and even places wood Dutch shoes and boots on the porch, and then she does an adult looking glam tree in the formal room.
There is so much that can be created with baby tot shoes, I agree they are just so darn cute.
See you and your shoe tress soon :)
Xoxo
